For those of you who love the quintessential Chico hamburger — BURGER HUT'S version — you'll be able to enjoy them in the Sacramento area, come this spring.
Already two initial franchises have been awarded by the Chico company, according to RICHARD KUSIE, who heads the franchising part of the company.
The first one has gone to an El Dorado Hills couple who have gotten the go-ahead to put it in the Green Valley Market Place in North El Dorado Hills. Expect that restaurant to open in June.
Another is planned in Roseville, although its location has not yet been determined. Expect that one to open a bit later.
It's nice to be the "big," out-of-town burger franchise to sweep into the Sacramento area. I'm sure that's what the Burger Hut folks hope is the reality.
Kusie said Burger Hut is going about the franchising systematically and unhurried. The last thing they want is a smudge on the company name or a failed store.
Started in the late 1970s, Burger Hut has three company stores here and one in Yuba City.
