El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputy Damien Walters was "cornered" by Rajan Vaid during the final moments before that deputy fired a single shot, killing Vaid to end a tense incident on the morning of Sept. 11, 2007, in the backyard of a home in El Dorado Hills, according to a news release issued Friday by the El Dorado County District Attorney's office.
